Honey-Glazed Baked Chicken Wings and Drumsticks

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 8 chicken wings
  • 4 chicken legs (drumsticks)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp ground cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

 

For the Spice Garnish:

  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp dried rosemary
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp salt

Directions

For the Chicken:

  • 8 chicken wings

Instructions:

Prepare the Marinade:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper.

Marinate the Chicken:

  1. Place the chicken wings and legs in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  2. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well-coated.
  3. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.

Preheat the Oven:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Bake the Chicken:

  1. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a lightly greased rack set over a baking sheet.
  2. Discard the used marinade.
  3. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Prepare the Spice Garnish:

  1. While the chicken is baking, mix together the dried thyme, dried rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt in a small bowl.

Garnish and Serve:

  1. Remove the chicken from the oven and immediately sprinkle the spice mixture over the hot wings and legs.
  2. Drizzle some honey.
  3. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
